Soar

I held her close
Swearing I would never let go.
She took flight
In a momentary lapse.
She soared through the clouds,
Wings beating back resistance.
I longed for her return,
Coaxing where I may.
Yet, I relented in the end
For she is more beautiful
Soaring above the world
Than she ever was in mine.
