I went to Dachau today for the third time in 14 months; twice this month. I used to think “how did the psyche allow complicity to creep in resulting in such barbarous behavior from Germans towards their fellow Germans and fellow man?”
Then I open my timeline to see Americans calling immigrants “illegals” and willingly accepting their detention despite not having harmed anyone. Then I see this detention being accepted despite the inhumane manner in which these migrants are treated. Why is it accepted? By the same means which the NSDAP cowed the German citizenry, through propaganda that used verbiage that turned humans from people to things…. to others… to illegals.
